If you have any issues you want NCR Executives to discuss, please let me know!
I have led multiple national and international conferences and projects in my field of expertise -developing and evaluating biometric and computer vision systems. You can learn more about these though DRDC-funded projects and my Conference Proceeding pages (archived content).
I worked with many passionate professionals across many Government departments and Canadian academia. I know well how to work with diverse range of professionals and to get highly challenging problems addressed. I also know very well how science and technology, particularly AI, can be used for the benefit of our communities, but also against them (e.g., censoring inconvenient truth from public). All of this strengthens my confidence in my ability to advocate for all professionals within the Union to address the issues that matter most to them.
This photo shows a presentation for one of the projects I led at the CBSA.
The screenshot shows the question that I asked at the town-hall with the upper CBSA management: "What managers can do to promote open safe discussion on the issues that polarized our society such as mandates and vaccine safety". This question has become the most up-voted question in the "manager's section at this town-hall, which was attended by over three hundred branch employees (May 2024)
In my work I always strive to be a voice for those who are afraid to speak up, while offering constructive ideas on how to address the expressed concerns.
The photo shows the lunch-time boot camp training with my CBSA colleagues in front of the Parliament, organized by the CBSA Engagement team. My t-shirt states "Education not Indoctrination. Unity Not Division. Gratitude not Resentment" (July 2024)
If you have any topics that you want to discuss in safe and constructive manner, or if you want to organize a team-building event with your professional colleagues please let me know - I will see if the Union can help you organize or fund it!
The photo shows the NRC lunch time soccer team in their PIPSC jerseys. These jerseys and other soccer equipment for this social activity was acquired with support from PIPSC.
If you have any team-building event or social activity, please let me know - I will see if the Union can help you organize or fund it!
For my contribution to science and scientific community, I was named "Leader of Tomorrow" by the Royal Academy of Sciences of Canada's Partnership Group for Science and awarded a number of prestigious awards.
Science has been a life-long passion of mine. However, it has become hard for me to see how politics gets in the way of doing good science for all Canadians. I want to change that.
